We are prequalified by the Illinois Department of Transportation for Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Typical Lighting, and Construction Inspection. Our expertise includes specialized design services for Traction Power and Moveable Bridges. Noteworthy projects include the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Red Line Extension, the CTA Damien Green Line Station, the Elgin-O’Hare Expressway, and the award-winning Chicago River Walk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and communication systems.

  • Create and modify electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Perform electrical calculations for system sizing, load analysis, and fault current analysis.

  • Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers to ensure electrical designs meet project requirements.

  • Conduct site visits to review installation of electrical systems and troubleshoot any issues.

  • Support senior engineers with the preparation of technical documents, project reports, and project cost estimates.

  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations (NEC, local codes).

  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals and manage electrical engineering portions of the project lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure successful implementation and performance of electrical systems.

  • Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices related to electrical design.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Electrical discipline

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the MEP industry.

  • PE or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required.

  • Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience required.
