Rachel Borenstein
President, Mechanical Engineer

Rachel Borenstein is a mechanical engineer with experience in private and public sector projects. At AAA Engineering she has created and environment which emphasizes the strengths of each employee, thereby allowing the company to flourish.

In her role as president, she is involved in the QAQC process overseeing the quality of the product that the company produces.  She is the day to day company manager ensuring the financial stability and viability of the company.

Through Rachel’s leadership,  and our diverse group of talented engineers, AAA Engineering has built an enviable portfolio of complex projects, and in a short period of time, has become one of the most desired MEP engineering firms in the Chicagoland area.

Sheldon Kirshner, P.E.
Senior Electrical Engineer

Sheldon Kirshner has over 30 years of experience with CTA transit facilities in traction power, electrical design and construction oversight.

He is a noted traction power engineer in the industry, working on both small and large scale CTA projects. He has been involved in the development of the CTA design criteria, plans and specifications for traction power for the CTA. He is currently working on three CTA substations and one Metra substation, as well as the purchase of substation equipment for five CTA substations.

Sheldon also has over 30 years of experience in roadway lighting and traffic design. He has worked for the Chicago Department of Electrical Operations (DEO) for nearly 30 years. While with the City he developed many of the Department’s specifications. He is considered a leading roadway lighting authority in Chicago.

Michael Blumenthal, P.E., LEED
Senior Electrical Engineer

Michael Blumenthal has more than 40 years of electrical engineer experience in both the public and private sectors.

With over four decades of experience in managing complex electrical projects he is an asset to any team or project. He is especially gifted in translating big-picture vision into practical, strategic action plans for success and is a known leader in his field.

Morrie Lieberman, P.E.
Senior Mechanical Engineer

Morrie Lieberman has over 20 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in design and construction oversight of mechanical and plumbing systems in public sector projects.

He recently designed the mechanical and plumbing system for the new Morgan/Lake CTA Elevated station. Morrie has been a regular code reviewer on behalf of the City of Chicago. He has worked on government and healthcare projects that involve complex engineering solutions, such as projects for the United States Navy and Veteran Affairs, and Mount Sinai Hospital.
